Some processes cannot enter specific conditions, which makes it difficult to imitate simulations with traditional controllers. This means that the decisions that affect the process are often made by experienced system administrators - based on a full picture of the state of the system, which can usually only be expressed verbally.
Fuzzy logic is an advanced engineering tool that integrates expert "fuzzy" decisions as quantifiable effects into traditional controllers.
Traditional controllers (such as PI controllers) do a good job of stabilizing feeder operating points. Due to the feeder path dynamics, they are usually set very slowly. However, this means that PI controllers cannot respond quickly to product changes or issues that arise. This aspect is where the fuzzy controller can play its role, and it can adjust the situation through intervention.
